Ep. 291 | Engineering Out Failure in the Decision-Making Process with Matthew Barnes

Matthew Barnes, Founder of Proteus Digital Lab, is a problem-solver at heart. When he’s not consulting with CEOs of direct-to-consumer e-commerce brands, he’s teaching life skills to kids through the art of parkour. Including the power of incremental progress in problem-solving, exploring how small steps can lead to big results, and how a series of calculated steps can help us achieve our goals, overcome our fears, and expand our capabilities.

ABOUT Matthew Barnes

Matthew Barnes, founder of Proteus Digital Lab,

My goals in life are simple: Help others achieve their vision, live responsibly, and travel often to expand perspective.

During my pursuit of a masters degree in Engineering, I found myself lost—separated from the "da Vinci" style problem solving that fueled me. It was then that I decided to take the leap to a full-time position as Creative Director at Know Obstacles Apparel.

As Creative Director, I had the opportunity to guide the creative vision of the company, developing a strong brand identity within the growing market. I led numerous campaigns and was intimately involved in the development and launch of each new product collection.

I am a hardworking problem-solver with a fervent personality and unquenchable thirst for adventure.

I find balance through my artistic passions and love for extreme sports.

now run an agency that. Uh, consulting with CEOs of direct to consumer e-commerce brands, and we do analytics and, uh, conversion optimizations heavy in statistics and development.
