ABOUT Dr. Cathy Goldstein

Dr. Goldstein is a neurologist who completed her residency at University of Colorado and sleep fellowship at Northwestern University. She is currently a Professor of Neurology at the University of Michigan Sleep Disorders Center where she cares for patients with a variety of sleep complaints. Dr. Goldstein’s scholarly work is centered around the role of sleep in chronic conditions like infertility, multiple sclerosis, and GI disease and the ambulatory monitoring of sleep with consumer sleep trackers. She has collaborated extensively with the University of Michigan math department in the modeling of sleep and circadian rhythms form wearable signals and leads the Mobile Technology research core of the Eisenberg Family Depression Center. Additionally, she is a nationally active leader in her field as the prior chair of the Artificial Intelligence in Sleep Medicine committee for the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, associate editor of the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine, and editor of the field’s primary textbook: Principles and Practice of Sleep Medicine.
